Ontario Hockey League Draft Picks:

The Blades currently have six (6) OHL draft picks on their roster: Alex Cord, Steven Trojanovic, Tyler Karius, Mark Bennett, Mark McGowan, and Mike Morissette.  Their player profiles can be viewed below.

Steven Trojanovic - #57

Steven Trojanovic (6'2, 195 lbs., 1993)

Trojanovic, a 1993-born defenceman who does not turn 17 until the summer of 2010, joins the Blades after starting the season with the 2009 Memorial Cup Champion Windsor Spitfires of the Ontario Hockey League.  In 9 OHL games (so far) in the 2009-2010 season the 16 year-old has netted an assist to go along with 2 PIMs and a +3 rating.  He was taken by Windsor in the 2009 OHL Draft with their 3rd Round selection, 58th overall. 

Alex Cord - #6

Alex Cord (6'2, 200 lbs., 1992)

Alex joins the Blades after spending the 2008-2009 season with the Vaughan Kings Midget AAA program.  He is a 2008 selection, 3rd round, 61st overall, of the St. Michael's Majors and could potentially spend time in both the Ontario Junior 'A' Hockey Leauge (OJAHL) and Ontario Hockey League (OHL) this season.

Tyler Karius - #18

Tyler Karius (6'2, 200 lbs., 1991)

Tyler came to the Oakville Blades at the start of the 2009-2010 season from the Kingston Voyageurs of the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL).  Prior to joining the Vees, he spent time with the Ontario Hockey League's Kingston Frontenacs.  Kingston originally drafted Tyler in the 7th Round, 129th overall, in the 2007 OHL draft.

Mark Bennett - #91

Mark Bennett (6'0, 185 lbs., 1991)

Mark joined the Oakville Blades from the Mississauga Rebels Midget AAA program in 2008-2009.  He is a 2007 12th round selection, 221st overall, of the Erie Otters and registered 6 points in 24 regular season games.  He also dressed in 8 playoff games for the Blades - 7 of which were in the OJHL semi-final and Buckland Cup final.

Mark McGowan - #55

Mark McGowan (6'2, 200 lbs., 1990)

The Blades acquired Mark McGowan in the Spring of 2009.  He is a 2006 11th round selection, 210th overall, of the Mississauga St. Michaels Majors.  Mark has registered 97 points in 97 career OJHL games.

Mike Morissette - #30

Mike Morissette (5'11, 195lbs., 1989)

Mike came to the Oakville Blades for the 2009-2010 season from the Leamington Flyers of the Greater Ontario Junior 'B' Hockey League.  He is a 2005 11th round selection, 207th overall, of the St. Michael's Majors.
