Prigione OJHL top goalie

Oakville Blades goalie James Prigione has won the OJHL’s Best Goaltender honours for the 2011-12 season.

Prigione, a veteran finishing his final season of junior eligibility, posted a 2.04 goals against average in 28 games. Combined with a sensational .932 save percentage – also tops in the league – and a league-leading six shutouts, James was the clear winner of the league honours for top goalie.

The Blades wrapped up the regular season on the weekend, beating Brampton at home on Friday night before losing 2-1 in Burlington. The Blades’ had already secured a second-place finish in the West division, earning the team a first-round playoff bye.

The team is expected to return to action on or about Feb 21, hosting the first game of a best-of-seven division semi final.
