Ryan Murphy - #12

Ryan Murphy (6'1"  190 lbs.)

A native of Stratford, ON, Ryan joined the Blades from the Stratford Cullitons of the Mid-Western Junior 'B' Hockey League at the start of the 2008-2009 season.  He immediately established himself as an offensive threat and ended the regular season as the Blades 3rd leading scorer behind overagers Luke Moodie and captain Jeremy Welsh with 81 points in 49 games.  Ryan also proved to be a very capable player in his own end throughout the season, ending with a plus-minus rating of +52, while earning a 'minus' rating in only 5 of 49 regular season games.

In the 2009 playoffs he continued his strong offensive play, netting 29 points in 28 games, including 2 game-winning goals and 1 series-winning goal.  Ryan was also a 'plus' player in the playoffs, earning a +17 rating.

The Blades are excited to have Ryan back for the 2009-2010 season as he looks to build upon a very successful rookie campaign.
